“I would do anything to stay in my house.”
Kate would describe her home as perfect, as it possesses a captivating view of trees and neighboring homes. Yet, the allure of her home comes with a challenge, a staircase of about 16 steps leading to the living space. Three years ago, despite her thriving condition, she had undergone knee replacement surgery. She continued to use her stairs. However, the ease of going up and down the stairs began to diminish, especially when confronted with the task of transporting items like groceries. Recognizing the impending difficulty and foreseeing a time when the stairs would pose a significant obstacle, Kate took proactive measures. She made some calls, explored options, and entrusted Thrive for Life with the task of installing the Stiltz Trio Alta elevator. After the installment, Kate continued to use her stairs when not carrying items up until she could no longer bear to walk up and down the stairs.

“I’m using it [Stiltz elevator] all the time now. I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t have the elevator.”
Kate expressed how seamless the process of obtaining the construction permit was, saying, “I don’t recall it being an issue; they just got it [the permit] and hired someone to build the construction.–They were pleasant, did a good job, they really did not inconvenience me at all.” Kate, who desires to age within the comforts of her home, emphasizes the strategic decision of installing the Stiltz elevator before its necessity becomes imminent. With a genuine love for her house, she said that she could not imagine leaving, which is what may have happened had she not had the elevated installed years prior.
“We all think we are young and are not gonna need it. But I am So glad I got it before I really needed it.”
When she is not working at the local needle store, Kate hangs out with friends or goes to see a movie.
